Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain the light emitting power according to the loss, by detecting the optical level incident to one receiver, transmitting it to another, and detecting the optical level incident from the received signal to the opposing receiver to control the power of the light emitting element. CONSTITUTION:The signal input to an input terminal 1 is input to a light emitting element drive circuit 3, it is converted into optical signal at a light emitting element 4 and delivered to a optical transmission line 5, converted into electric signal at a photodetector 6 through the optical transmission line 5 and output at the output terminal 9. The light level incident to the detector 6 is monitored at a reception level monitor circuit 20, and the monitor signal is synthesized with the main signal at a light emitting element drive circuit 12 and delivered to a optical transmission circuit 14 at a light emitting element 13. The transmitted signal is converted into electric signal at the photodetector 15, the monitor signal is detected at the monitor signal detection circuit 21 to control the light emitting element drive circuit 3, and control is made so that the optical level incident to the photodetector 6 can be made constant for the output of the element 4.
