Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To accurately perform the positioning of an air cylinder to a defined stop position by a method wherein a decelerating position, a decelerating speed and a controlling position of an air cylinder is automatically defined in accordance with a load, the variation of a used pressure and the variation of an operation speed. CONSTITUTION: A three way electromagnetic valve 3 is mounted at an air supplying passage to an air cylinder 1 provided with a control mechanism 2 and along with this, a speed controller 4 is connedted to a passage of a rod side of the cylinder 1 and a series circuit composed of a two way electromagnetic valve 5 and a speed controller 6 is connected to the head side passage of the cylinder 1, respectively further, a digital flow controlling valve 7 is connected to the controller 6 in parallel. And further, a two way electromagnetic valve 8 is mounted at a passage through which an air source P 2 is connected to the control mechanism 2. And each of control elements 3, 5, 7, 8 is controlled through a microcomputer 10 in accordance with the output of a linear encoder 13 and a limit switch 16 which detect the moving quantity of the air cylinder 1.
