Polyethylene composition
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: Titled composition suited to produce extremely thin films by inflation molding, prepared by adding to a low-melt index, high-density polyethylene base, a specific amount of a high-melt index, high-density polyethylene. CONSTITUTION: Titled composition is obtained by mixing (a) 100pts.wt. of a high- density polyethylene having a melt index of 0.02W0.1 and a flow ratio of at least 100, selected from high-density polyethylenes produced by medium- or low-pressure polymerization processes with (b) 3W15pts.wt. pref. 5W10pts.wt. of a high-density polyethylene having a melt index of 0.1W4 and a flow ratio of at most 35, selected from high-density polyethylenes produced by medium- or low-pressure polymerization processes. The flow ratio is determied by the measurement of melt index, and is defined as a ratio of the amount of resin which flows for 10min at a load of 11.3kg to that at a load of 1.112kg.
