N type nematic liquid crystal composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide the titled compsn. which exhibits negative dielectric anisotropy of a large value and in which a liquid crystal temperature range is low, by a method wherein several kinds of the derivatives of specified cpd. are mixed together. CONSTITUTION: (A) At least two cpd. selected from cpd. of formula I (wherein R is C 5 H 11 , C 6 H 13 , C 7 H 15 ) or formula II (wherein R is C 4 H 9 , C 6 H 13 ) are mixed with (B) at least one cpd. selected from cpd. of formulas IIIWVI. By using the resulting N type nematic liquid crystal compsn., there can easily be obtd. a guest-host type liquid crystal display apparatus which displays patterns positively.
