Shim device for automatically adjusting axial clearance of bearing
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To reduce the number of steps for the previous pressurization of a bearing and the setting of its axial clearance and improve accuracy, by appropriately determining the number of set items such as an interference, a thickness and a plug, automatically setting an appropriate axial clearance and maintaining the clearance. CONSTITUTION: An annular member 10, which has an axial width S 1 not larger than the thickness S of a shim, is provided. A ring 11, which has an appropriate interference on the inside to fit the member 10 and has an axial width S 2 not larger than the thickness S, is provided as a tightly fitted member. The interference for both members 10, 11 is so set that an appropriate axial clearance is maintained because of a frictional resisting force based on the tight fitting of both the members 10, 11, when the ring 11 is tightly fitted in the member 10 and thrusting load acts to a bearing.
