Application of high polymer flocculant

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To facilitate the application of a high polymer flocculant for treating an object of treatment such as waste water or muddy water, by adding an inorganic salt of calcium or of magnesium or the like to the flocculant. CONSTITUTION: To a high polymer flocculant such as polyacrylic acid or polyacrylamide is admixed a salt of Ca or Mg, such as calcium chloride or magnesium chloride, a hydroxide such as calcium hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide, or an oxide such as calcium oxide or magnesium oxide, in an amount of 1W100pts.wt. per 1pt.wt. of the flocculant. The mixture is mixed with water, forming an aqueous solution or suspension, which is mixed with an object of treatment such as waste water or muddy water.
