Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of a reciprocating pump by keeping the minimum gap between the tip surface of a plunger and the wall surface of the head portion of a pump house an ideal distance by constituting so that the tip portion of the plunger at the top dead center in the pump house is always at a settled position. CONSTITUTION: When the side surface, which has a guide key 6, of a square shaft portion 5 faces a shifter 28 and becomes parallel to the center line of a plunger 14, as figured, a connecting rod 10 is eccentric maximumly toward the side of the plunger 14. Under this condition, an angle θ of inclination of an inclined axis 18 is settled previously so that the inclined axis 18 and the guide key 6 are parallel each other. Thereby, if a eccentric ring 7 is any position on the guide key 6, the tip portion of the plunger 14 at the top dead center in a pump house 21 is kept always on a determined position. Accordingly, the minimum gap between the tip surface of the plunger 14 and the wall surface of the head portion of the pump house 21 is kept always at a ideal distance without regard to the change of the stroke length of the plunger 14, and thereby, the efficiency of the pump is improved.
