Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electromotive operation of a steering wheel in accordance with an amount of a handle operation, by electrically detecting a difference between an operational power of a handle and a steering power of a steering wheel and subsequently controlling a power source and a steering motor by means of a control signal obtained from said difference signal detected. CONSTITUTION: An extension of a shaft 3 connected with a handle 2 is provided with a detection unit 9 consisting of spacers 11 and 12, a permanent magnet 14 buried in a supporting material 13, a deflection detector 15 placed in opposition to the magnet 14, etc. An electromotive power steering apparatus is fabricated so that a difference between an operational power of the handle 2 and a steering power of a steering wheel 6 is detected by the deflection detector 15 on the basis of a change in magnetic flux of the permanent magnet 14, and further a power source and a motor may be controlled through a lead line 18, control circuit and a switching circuit (both unshown in the drawing). Thus, the steering wheel 6 may be operated, by a small electric power, at turning angle in accordance with an operation of the handle 2, and further a small and cheap power steering apparatus is produciable.
