Electrophotographic receptor
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic receptor superior in dark resistivity, thermal, chemical, and mechanical strength, and in photoconductivity, by forming a photoconductive layer consisting mainly of silicon and carbon and having a specified doped layer on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION: Photoconductive layer 204 is formed on conductive substrate 201 consisting of substrate 202 and conductive layer 203 to form electrophotographic receptor 200. Photoconductive layer 204 is made of an amorphous material consisting mainly of silicon and carbon, and composed of nondoped layer 206 and doped layer 205 doped with impurities formed on the side adjacent to substrate 201. Layer 208 of dark resistivity ≥10 10 Ωcm is formed on the surface of nondoped layer 206. When substrate 202 itself is conductive, conductive layer 203 is not always necessary. Alternatively, on condutive substrate 301 photoconductive layer 304 may be formed which consists of the first doped layer 305, nondoped layer 306, and the second doped layer 307 reverse in conducting direction to the first layer 305.
