Current detecting method
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To facilitate an easy measurement for the current of high voltage without using any insulated transformer, by detecting the current after converting it into the light. CONSTITUTION: The current to be detected flows to the conductor 1, and the voltage induced at the coil 3 charges the capacitor 5 via the diode 4. When the charging voltage exceeds the Zener voltage of the diode 6, the voltage is applied to the gate of the SCR7, and the charging electric charge flows to the light emitting element 11 via the coil 9. In this case, the discharge current of the capacitor 5 charges the capacitor 5 in the opposite direction by he initial current of the coil 9, thus turning off the SCR7. The light emitting pulses generated from element 11 intermittently and by the repetition of charge and discharge of the capacitor 5 are transmitted to the point of observation via the optical fiber 12, and the current of the conductor 1 is detected through the observation of frequency.
