Thiazole derivative and fungicide comprising it
Abstract
Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A thiazole derivative shown by the formula I (R is 3W5C alkyl; X is methyl or amino) of its hydrochloride. USE: A fungicide. Extremely effective against sheath blight, an important blight of rice plant, having no phototoxicity to crops. PROCESS: For example, a compound shown by the formula II and a compound shown by the fomrula III are subjected to ring closure reaction in an organic solvent e.g., an alcohol, ketone, nitrile, etc. under heating with stirring to give a hydrochloride shown by the formula IV. Hydrochloric acid is removed from the compound shown by the formula IV by a base, e.g., alkali bicarbonate, alkali carbonate, caustic alkali, organic base, etc., to give a compound shown by the fomrula I.
