Device for applying prestress to screw
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To control consecutively the magnitude prestress to be exerted onto a screw in a simple construction by using two nuts screwed into a lead screw with a predetermined clamping force, a cylindrical sleeve and a clamping member. CONSTITUTION: A spiral groove 8 is formed in a lead screw 7. Two nuts 9 and 10 are screwed over the groove 8. A cylindrical sleeve 11 is fit on the outer peripheral faces of the nuts 9 and 10. The nuts 9 and 10 are clamped and fastened with fit-in screws 12 and 13. The nuts 9 and 10 are thus fastened to the sleeve 11. The muutally-connected nuts 9, 10 and sleeve 11 are moved in the axial directions of the lead screw 7 by turning the lead screw 7, which enables the magnitude of prestress to be controlled consecutively and finely. Furthermore, it is easy to perform the adjustment a prestress magnitude, thereby improving the work efficiency. Even if backlash is increased during service, readjustment is rendered easier.
