Carbon fine particle cleaner for internal combustion engine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To stably collect a carbon fine particle without causing a clogged state in a filter, by arranging a filter and oxidized catalyzer for collecting the carbon fine particle in exhaust gas and providing a fuel injection device at their upstream side. CONSTITUTION:In a carbon fine particle cleaner 5 provided in an exhaust gas passage, a filter 18 and oxidized catalyzer 17 are arranged, and at their upstream side a fuel injection device 9 is provided. From a rotary speed detector 22 and torque detector 23, concentration of a carbon fine particle is obtained by a computer 24. For the low concentration, a valve 19 is opened, then exhaust gas reaches an exhaust gas lead out pipe 7 from an internal space 20. If the concentration is increased, the valve 19 is closed, and the exhaust gas is allowed to pass the oxidized catalyzer layer 17, filter 18, external space 21 and the pipe 7 and discharged. The oxidized catalyzer 17 heated by the fuel injection device 9 fires and cleans the carbon fine particle collected by the filter 18.
