Compound magnetic head and its manufacture

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To manufacture a compound magnetic head which is capable of a high- density recording at an accurate position on a magnetic medium, by securing a combination between the writing-reading magnetic head core and the magnetic erasing head incorporating a pair of gaps with a smaller space than the gap width of the writing-reading head core. CONSTITUTION: The C shaped core 22 with winding of the coil 24 is combined with the I shaped core 21, and the notch parts 27 and 27 are provided on the tape sliding surface to form the writing-reading magnetic head core 21 with the width set to Tw' for the writing-reading gap 26 width. On the other hand, the C shaped core 29 with the coil 31 wound is combined with the I shaped core 30 along with the groove 34 provided on the tape sliding surface. And then a pair of magnetic erasing gaps 33 and 33 having the mutual space Gw' smaller than the width Tw', thus forming the erasing magnetic head core 28. Then both the cores 21 and 28 are jointed together via the gap material 37 to form the compound magnetic head. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
