Preventing device for evaporation of fuel for automobile
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To accelerate adsorption and desorption reactions of active carbon and thus to improve performance by arranging an air inlet side opening end of an air inlet pipe connected to the body of a fuel evaporation preventing device enclosing active carbon to a position adjacent to a periphery of an exhaust manifold. CONSTITUTION: An active carbon 9 is enclosed in a vessel 6 of a fuel evaporation preventing device body (canister) 5, and one end of a fuel steam inlet pipe 10 with its other end open to the top of a fuel tank 11 is kept open to the top thereof through a check valve 10a. Then, one end of a mixed gas outlet pipe 12 with its other end open to a sucked air supply passage of a carburetor 3 is also kept open thereto through a check valve 12a. Further, one end of an air inlet pipe 13 with its other end opened to the atmosphere is kept open to a bottom of the vessel 6, however, a cylindrical part 130 surrounding the periphery of an exhaust manifold 4 with a slight gap left therein is formed on its other end, in this case. This constitution is effective to heating the air sucked through the air inlet pipe 13 and thus accelerating a reaction for desorption of a fuel steam adsorbed on the active chabon 9.
