Air heating and temperature controlling device prior to air cleaner and carburetor of gasoline engine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To gasify fuel thoroughly in the wintertime by a method wherein the sucked air is heated beforehand by means of a heat of an exhaust manifold and then led to a carburetor through air cleaner. CONSTITUTION: To heat the air prior to its coming into an air cleaner (2), an air suction pipe is provided additionally on an exhaust manifold (7), thereby heating the sucked air by means of an exhaust heat. To control the air temperature in this case, a governing valve provided in an air suction bypass pipe is controlled by an action of the air cleaner (2) and a bimetal (1) arranged at suitable portion, and thus the sucked air passing the air suction pipe is allowed to bypass.
