Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve a bond strength between a rubber film and a substrate, by a method wherein a photopolymerization initiator is added in advance to a vulcanizable rubber material, which is then coated on a substrate, such as metal, and irradiated by ultraviolet rays to cure the rubber film. CONSTITUTION: Rubber material such as butadiene rubber is dissolved in a solvent, to which is then added a photopolymerization initiator (for example: benzophenone, benzoin) in an amount of 1W5wt% based on the rubber and dissolved. Then, the solution thus made is coated on a substrate such as a hard aluminum plate, dried, and cured by irradiation with ultraviolet rays, to form a rubber film which is strongly bond to the substrate.
