Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a gas separating membrane with high heat resistance, mechanical strength and good gas permeability by laminating fluorine contg. silicone rubber and porous polytetrafluoroethylene. CONSTITUTION:An extremely thin membrane of a fluorine contg. silicone rubber such as a copolymer of 1,1,1-trifluoropropylmethylsiloxane or the like with dimethylsiloxane or the like is laminated on a porous polytetrafluoroethylene comprising a fiber texture of knots mutually connected by fibers to obtain a gas separating membrane. This gas separating membrane has high heat resistance, high mechanical strength as well as excellent gas permeability in case of separating a mixed gas.
