Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce loss and improve reliability, by constituting the center part into two or more layers with prescribed chalcogen glass including no arsenic and halogen elements and by constituting the outside layer with oxide glass having a softening temperature slightly higher than that of the center part. CONSTITUTION:The center part is formed with two or more glass layers different in refractive index consisting of chalcogen glass which consists silicon or germanium and sulfur or selenium and contains antimony or phosphorus as addition components as circumstances require and contains hardly or does not contain oxygen, arsenic, and halogen elements. The outside layer of this center part is formed with the oxide glass layer which has a softening temperature higher than that of any glass layer of the center part and has the softening temperature below 100 deg.C.
