Isothermal compressor of multistage roots type

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the volume efficiency by connecting Roots-type compressors in a multistage fashion and carrying out isothermal compression at each stage with water jet. CONSTITUTION: Roots-type compressor 2', 2", 2''' are connected in a multistage way and jet nozzles 7', 7", 7''' are provided at the air intake ports 4, 13", 13''' on each stage. Then isothermal compression is carried out at each stage with water jet. Under this arrangement, water coat is generated between rotors and in a space with the surrounding wall, providing a seal effect. Thus it is possible to improve the volume efficiency.
