Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make it possible to have a talk by telephone without cash by coupling an attachable and detachable IC card with a telephone set and then by writing the charge for the telephone call in the memory of the IC card in calling according to a charging signal sent from a station side. CONSTITUTION:IC card 3 is connected to a telephone set being attachable and detachable. In calling, charging signal transmitter 10 in a station supervises a call state and sends a charging signal out. Then, charging signal receiving circuit 13 receives the charging signal and then sends it to IC card control circuit part 14. Receiving circuit 13, connecting with call control circuit 12, judges that when the party of a telephone call has a special number such as ''110''(police station), the charging signal from transmitter 10 is not accepted. On receiving the charging signal, control circuit 14 generates data to be written on IC card 3 and makes a comparison to data on IC card 3, thereby writing the data on IC card 3. At this time, the charge for the telephone call up to the point is recorded and held in the memory circuit part on IC card 3.
