Polycarbonate resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a glass-reinforced polycarbonate resin compsn. having excellent mechanical characteristics, particularly impact resistance, by a method wherein an olefin wax having carboxyl gp. is added to a glass-reinforced arom. polycarbonate resin compsn. CONSTITUTION: An olefin wax having carboxylic acid anhydride gp. of formula I (wherein n is 12W20) or carboxyl gp. of formula II (wherein n is 12W20) (e.g. Hi-Wax Oxidation Type 2203 A, a product of Mitsubishi Chemical Industries) is used as an additive. 0.1W5pts.wt. of the above wax (b) is blended with 100pts.wt. of a glass-reinforced arom. polycarbonate resin compsn. consisting of 35W97pts.wt. of an arom. polycarbonate resin having a MW of 15,000W60,000 and 3W65pts.wt. of a glass fiber (having a fiber length of pref. 0.1W8mm and a fiber diameter of pref. 6W30μ) to obtain titled resin compsn.
