Cyclic amine

Abstract

Abstract NEW MATERIAL:A cyclic amine expressed by formula I [R 1 is H or lower alkyl; R 2 is formula II (R is lower alkyl) or formula III; A is formula IV or V], and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE: 1-( 3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzyl )-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-methyl-6,7,8-trimethoxyquinoline. USE: A branchodilator, an antitussive, an ameliorant of cerebral circulation and a preventing agent of premature birth having a smooth muscle relaxing action. PROCESS: A compound expressed by formula VI (Z - is anion) is electrolytically reduced in the presence of a compound expressed by the formula R 2 X [X is halogen or R 3 SO 3 -(R 3 is lower alkyl or aryl which may have a halogen as a substituent)] to give the compound of formula I.
