Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the speed of a vehicle from fluctuating, by setting an idling revolution speed command only in idling after the completion of warming-up of an engine to perform negative feedback control and correcting the quantity of compensating air on the basis of the deviation from the speed command. CONSTITUTION:An electronic control unit 20 regulates the quantity of injected fuel and the quantity of rotational frequency compensating air by adjusting the time width of opening of a fuel injection valve 16 and the displacement of the electromagnetic mechanism 34 of an air control valve 30. At that time, the quantity of the rotational frequency compensating air for setting a basic idling revolution speed is corrected on the basis of an idling revolution speed command and basic control quantities which determine the quantity of the compensating air. Corrected values for the basic control quantities are calculated from the difference between the idling revolution speed command and the real idling revolution speed at the time of the correction and are stored. The quantity of the compensating air is adjusted on the basis of the stored corrected values and the basic control quantities in an entire running region.
