Magnetic disk device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain miniature and inexpensive constitution by preventing mutual interference between actuators by composing the actuator of a rotary type actuator. CONSTITUTION:The 1st rotary type actuator including voice coil 25 and carriage 23 and the 2nd rotary type actuator including voice coil 25' and carriage 23' are provided on base 28 so that the 1st and 2nd rotary type actuators can attain access to group 21 of magnetic disks individually. In the figure, magnetic heads are shown by 22 and 22', and the turning direction of actuators by 30. For access to disk group 21 by the 1st actuator, electric power is supplied to coil bobbin 24 and vioce coil 25 drives carriage 23 to rotate on axis 29 of rotation. Similarly, access by the 2nd actuator is attained by rotating voice coil 25' around carriage 23 as axis 29 of rotation. Thus, mutual interference between both actuators is prevented.
