Pointer illuminating device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: To cause the pointer itself to illuminate and improve the readability by causing the collar part to penetrate through a shaft hole, also causing its outer peripheral surface to face the light emitting surface and leading the light from an illuminous body from the collar part to the pointer on the back side of the clock face through a photoconductor. CONSTITUTION: An hour hand 31 is illuminated by a lamp 23 through reflecting surfaces 24e and 31b. The hour hand 31 consists of a collar part 31a and a pointer part 31c, and a reflection surface 31d is formed on the front surface of the root part of the pointer part 31c, an inclined surface 31e is formed on the front surface of the leading end part, and a reflection membrane 38 applied with a color paint is formed on the back surface of the pointer part 31c. A light ray incident from the outer peripheral surface of the collar part 31a reflects forwardly on the reflection surface 31b, a part of the light ray reflecting by the reflecting surface 31d and entering the pointer 31c. The light ray incident in the pointer part 31c is irradiated forwardly from the inclined surface 31e. Since a lot of light rays are focused at the part of the inclined surface of the leading end, the pointer part 31c illuminates from the base to the leading end at a substantially uniform luminance.
