Mounting method of ion exchange membrane
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent an ion exchange membrane from being damaged by the tightening, by using a packing coated with a grease containing a resin dispersed in an oil agent in mounting the ion exchange membrane between frames of both electrode chambers in a filter press type electrolytic tank. CONSTITUTION:In order to prevent an ion exchange membrane from being damaged mechanically, a grease containing a resin dispersed in an oil agent is coated on a packing used in fixing an exchange membrane. A resin to be used is polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene, polyethylene, a methacrylate resin, a silicone resin or Teflon, where Teflon is most preferable. A particle size of the resin is about 10mmu-10mu and the resin is dispersed in an oil agent, for example, chlorinated paraffin in an amount of 5-80wt%. A coating amount of a grease on a packing surface is 5-400g/m<2>.
