Thermoplastic resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare the titled composition having excellent impact strength and rigidity, easily, by mixing a polyolefin resin homogeneously with a polystyrene resin in the presence of a specific hydrogenated block copolymer. CONSTITUTION: (A) 100pts.wt. of a mixture of (a) 30W95wt% of a polyolefin resin and (b) 70W5wt% of a polystyrene resin, is mixed with (B) 3W50pts.wt. of a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by hydrogenating a block copolymer composed of a block A consisting of a vinyl-substituted aromatic compound polymer and a block B consisting of a conjugated diene polymer and containing 15W85wt% of the bonded vinyl-substituted aromatic compound, until at least 70% of the double bonds in the block copolymer is saturated. The addition of the (B) component is effective, generally, when the ratio of the (a) component in the whole composition is 30W98wt%, and that of the (B) component is 1W99wt%.
