Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To suppress excessive movement of the valve body and obtain stable pressure control by directly controlling the valve body with a movable core of an electromagnetic device which has such a spring characteristic that the attraction force gradually reduces with the displacement in the direction of the attracting force. CONSTITUTION: The control valve comprises a valve body A and an electromagnetic device B. The electromagnetic device B includes a movable core 9 and a fixed core 11 adapted to attract the core 9, and the fixed core 11 is provided with a cylindrical recess 12. When the movable core 9 is inserted in a recess 12, the overlapping part on the peripheral wall of the recess 12 is increased. Thus, the magnetic force lines pass through an annular space (t) of a low magnetic reluctance mainly in the raidal direction, so that the force F of attraction is reduced substantially linearly. For this reason, a spring characteristic which the force of attraction is increased with the movement of the valve body 7 in the direction opposite to the direction of attraction and is reduced with the movement in the direction of attraction, so that it is possible to suppress excessive movement of the valve body and avoid chattering or generation of surge voltages.
