Electrophotographic printing toner

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a toner coloring deeply, exhibiting superior black, chargeable to a high negative potential, and nonrequiring complementing negative charge by bias, by using a toner containing a specified dye having a negative charge. CONSTITUTION: One or more kinds of dyes represented by the formula in which A is H, Na, K, NH 4 , 6 or less C alkylammonium, or cyclohexyl-ammonium, and X, Y are H or NO 2 , when X is H, Y is NO 2 , and when X is NO 2 , Y is H is mixed with a resin by melting them, and pulverized after solidification to make a toner of mean particle diameter of 5W20μ. Alternatively, the dye is added to the monomer of the resin, and the mixture is suspension polymerized to form a toner of 5W20μ mean particle diameter.
