Material having water absorbing and water-holding capacity

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent falling of water absorbing substance from the base material at the time of absorbing water, by using the water absorbing and water-holding material uniformly mixed and dispersed the water absorbing macromolecule in soft resin or rubber. CONSTITUTION: Water absorbing macromolecule, such as macromolecule electrolyte, containing pulverized carboxylate of about ≤100μ mean grain diameter, is uniformly dispersed and mixed in the soft resin, such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or rubber, such as ethylene-propylene copolymer, by the mechanical method and the material having water absorbing and water-holding capacity, is manufactured. Elasticity of the base material and water absorbing material, coexists well even when the water is absorbed and the water absorbing material is not fallen off from the base material by using thus produced material.
