Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To miniaturize a carriage and to lighten an overall weight, by a method wherein a type wheel and the carriage are driven alternately by means of a single motor. CONSTITUTION: A timing belt, which is engaged with both a gear 26 of a shaft of the drive motor 27 and a rotary driving pulley 9 of the type wheel 7, is provided. When the type wheel 7 is regulated by a spring 20, the carriage 4 is engaged with the belt 14 through the medium of the pulley 9 for type wheel rotation in a stationary state and a belt 14, and the carriage 4 is caused to move through the movement of the belt 14. Meanwhile, when a solenoid 24 is charged with electricity by a type wheel/carriage switching signal, a wire 19 pulls claws 15 and 16 toward both sides against the spring 20, and the type wheel 7 is released from regulation. When the carriage 14 is regulated, the pulley 9 is brought into the rotating state through the movement of the belt 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
