Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain solide electrolyte batteries capable of being formed into a thin configuration and thus easily superposed into a laminated battery by using as an active material for the positive electrode a charge-transfer type complex which is formed between a halogen atom and a phtalocyanine compound. CONSTITUTION:On a substrate 1 made of polyester or the like is firmly mounted as a negative electrode a metal layer 2 made of lithium or the like. The metal layer 2 is sealingly coated with an active material 3 for a positive electrode together with a current collecting layer 4 made of a carbon film or the like. Lead wires 5, 6 of negative and positive electrodes are provided. The entire assembly is coated with an over-coating material such as polyester, thereby a hermetic thin battery is obtained. As the active material 3 for the positive electrode in this kind of battery is used a charge transfer type complex which is formed between a halogen atom like iodine and a phthalocyanine compound. As the phthalocyanine compound is used copper-, platinum-, iron phthalocyanine or the like. A solid electrolyte is naturally formed at the interface between the negative electrode 2 and the positive electrode 3. The electrode 3 is formed in a paste state on the electrode 2 and doped with a halogen atom. Or, before doping, the phthalocyanine compound may be vacuum- deposited negative electrode 2.
