Plaster medicine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: A plaster medicine, manufacturable readily and economically, capable of maintaining the drug action for a long time without causing dermopathy, and prepared by applying a soft mass containing a main drug having a controlled release rate to the surface of an air-permeable base material at an interval according to the printing method. CONSTITUTION: A soft mass of a plaster medicine containing a main drug, e.g. methyl salicylate or peppermint oil, is applied to an air-permeable base material in equally spaced dots, network or lines, to give a plaster medicine. The release rate of the main drug is controlled by enclosing in a microcapsule or coating with a film. The printing of the mass on the material renders the application efficient. The medicine will not cause dermopathy even for a long application time due to no disturbance of perspiration. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
