Device for cleaning chuck claw of machine tool by air
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To automatically remove adhering chips, by blowing air from an air blow-off pipe, which acts in response to the opening motion of chuck claws in the body of a chuck, to apply the air to the holding surfaces of the chuck claws. CONSTITUTION:The body 2 of a chuck is secured on the tip of a spindle 1. A plurality of chuck claws 3 are attached to the front end face of the body 2 so that the chuck claws 3 can be opened and closed in the radial direction. A piston 13, which serves as an air blow-off pipe is slidably fitted in an air cylinder 12. When the claws 3 are closed, the piston 13 slides rightward in response to the closing motion of the claws 3 and air ejection holes are opened toward the surfaces 3a of the chucks and necessary air is ejected to remove chips. The ejection of the air is restricted by a timer.
