Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency of utilization of a magnetic recording body by minimizing fruitless time, i.e. ineffective video time in a horizontal blanking interval and vertical blanking interval when a video signal is recorded on a magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION: In time t 1 when an effective video signal is output in output time T of the unit video information of a video signal, the effective video signal is stored in the 1st solid memory element 4 made up of CCD and in ineffective video time, the effective video signal stored in transfer time shorter than the above-mentioned ineffective video time is transferred from the 1st solid memory element 4 to the 2nd solid memory element 6. In tims t 2 obtained by subtracting the transfer time out of output time T of the unit video information, the effective video information is output from the 2nd solid memory element 6 and continuously recorded on magnetic recording body 10 and output time t 2 is so fixed that t 1 <t 2 <T. Therefore, the time when the effective video signal is not recorded on the magnetic body is short even in the horizontal blanking interval and vertical blanking interval of the signal, so that the magnetic recording body can be utilized remarkably effectively.
