Device for measuring picture area from offset printing plate

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To determine the picture area corresponding to the kind of a printing plate by providing a row of photoelectric detectors, a carrier which carries a printing plate or the detectors for scanning, and an operational processor which determines the picture area of the printing plate. CONSTITUTION: A printing plate 20 is carried by a carrier to a position below a plurality of photoelectric detectors 13 aligned in a row 10, and the detectional scanning is conducted linearly. On the other hand, an operational processor 40 comprises an amplifying circuit for amplifying the signals from the photoelectric detectors 13 for each detection element and a multiplexer 42 which selects and outputs the signals from the amplifying circuit in accordance with a processing program. Accordingly, the output of each of the photoelectric detectors 13 is selectively outputted by the multiplexer 42, and the total picture area as well as the picture area for each ink regulating key can be determined.
