Liquid crystal composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: A liquid crystal composition useful for liquid crystal display for a wrist watch, etc., having a wide temperature range of liquid crystal, capable of being drived by 1.5V., obtained by blending a specific derivative of benzoyloxybenzoic acid phenyl ester, etc. with an benzoic acid phenyl ester-based liquid crystal composition. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal-line compound shown by the formula I (R 1 is 1W8C straight-chain alkyl or straight-chain alcoxy) is blend with a liquid crystal- line compound shown by the formula II (R 2 and R 3 are the same as R 1 ) having a relatively low melting point, capable of lowering the melting point of the liquid crystal-line composition, and a liquid crystalline compound shown by the formula III (R 4 is the same as R 1 ) having two polar groups, large dielectric anisotropy, and high transparency, to give the desired liquid crystal-line composition.
