Polyester composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a polyester composition having high rate of crystallization and suitable as a molding compound having high crystallinity, excellent moldability and mold release characteristics even by the low temperature molding, by compounding a specific modified polyester with a polyfunctional epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION: A composition obtained by compounding (A) 90W99.9pts.wt. of a modified polyester obtained by heating a mixture composed of (a) 80W99.8pts. wt. of polyethylene terephthalate or a copolymerized polyester containing ≥80mol% of etylene terephthalate recurring unit and having an intrinsic viscosity of ≥0.3 and (b) 0.2W20pts.wt. of a polyalkylene glycol having at least one terminal hydroxyl group in a molecule and a molecular weight of a least 200, especially, a compound of formula HO(RO) n R 1 (R is 2W5C aliphatic hydrocarbon; R 1 is H, 1W 5C aliphatic hydrocarbon, etc.), and (B) 0.1W10pts.wt. of a polyfunctional epoxy compound (e.g. ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether).
