Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To give adequate alarm to the driver by requesting the driver for response only at the time of monotonous driving which has a possibility of causing a driver to fall into a lowered state of the awakening degree and detecting the awakening degree of the driver from whether the response time is appropriate or not. CONSTITUTION: In a monotonous driving detecting circuit 1, when the shift lever is at a 4-speed position or 5-speed position, a shift switch 14 is turned on, the output from the circuit 1 is supplied through an integrated circuit 16 to a comparator 19 and is compared with a constant voltage V. When the output has reached the voltage V, a monotonous drive signal is produced as output. When a preliminary alarm is generated by this signal, a monostable multivibrator circuit 21a is turned on over a time t. In this case, when the driver depresses a reset switch 20 after the lapse of a certain delay time, a switch 24a is interrupted by the switch 20 if the response is within the time t. However, when the response of the driver is delayed and the response is made after the lapse of the time t, the circuit 23 is turned on, and the switch 24b is turned on to actuate the alarming circuit 5.
