Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To improve the accuracy of machining and the workability for a boring bar, by separately constructing its shank portion and end head part with a mounting hole for the tool. CONSTITUTION: A shank portion 11 used as a main body for a boring bar and an end head part 16 with a mounting hole 17 for a tool 3 to be set are constructed as an independent unit. At a front end part of the shank portion 11 an engagement hole 14 is drilled to fit a connection axis part 18 provided in the head part 16, permit the integral coupling by a tightening spring and obtain a completed product. A quantity production of the head part 16 with the machined mounting hole 17, if completed, can meet a demand as necessary for the boring bar with a desired shape and length.
