Paper feed pressure regulator

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To prevent papers from being misfed, skewed, multi-sheet fed and the like, by detecting a size of the paper and allowing said detected output to adjust a pressing force to the paper contacted to paper feed means. CONSTITUTION: In a main unit 11 mounted to the final end one side of a cassette loading port in a copying machine, a plurality of paper size detecting elements 12, 13, 14 are pivotably set to a shaft 11a, and its tongue part 12a (13a, 14a not shown) is adapted to protruded parts 5a, 5b, 5c on the side of a cassette 5 permitting the turning motion of the detecting elements 12, 13, 14. Then operating parts 12c, 13c, 14c of the detecting elements 12, 13, 14 make an in-out motion to from a switch member 15 to permit the on-off operation of an AC solenoid 10. When the AC solenoid 10 is turned on, an adjusting lever 1 is lifted upward to apply an urging force normally of a coil spring 2 plus an additional force urged by the length l to a lifting lever 3 and transmit its action to the bottom plate of the cassette 5.
