Polyether sulfone resin composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To provide a resin compsn. which has excellent mechanical properties and gloss and well-balanced properties between heat deformation properties, impact strength and processability, by mixing a polyether sulfone with an acrylonitrile- butadiene-styrene copolymer. CONSTITUTION: 1W99pts.wt. polyether sulfone (PES) having a repeating unit of the formula, is mixed with 99W1pts.wt. acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS). PES alone may be used. A copolymer of PES with not more than 20wt% other component may be used also. The ABS resin may be a graft polymer obtd. by graft-polymerizing a backbone polymer composed of polybutadiene or a butadiene- styrene copolymer with a mixture consisting of a styrene monomer such as styrene or α-methylstyrene and an acrylonitrile monomer. Alternatively, the ABS resin may be a compsn. obtd. by blending said graft polymer with a copolymer of a styrene monomer with an acrylonitrile monomer. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
