Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To indicate the number of remaining pages of recording paper at all times as well as to detect the time of supplying recording paper for raising the efficiency of printing by providing a page-counting notch on every page in a recording paper and also a near-end discriminating notch near a terminal page. CONSTITUTION: A page-counting notch 2 is provided on every page in a recording paper 1 and also a near-end detecting notch 3 different from said notch 2 is provided in the page preceding a given page from the last. Then, light receiving elements 4 and 5 and luminous elements 6 and 7, for example, are located on both sides of the lug portion of the recording paper 1 in the moving path of the paper 1. When the notch 2 of the paper 1 passes by, only the light receiving element 4 operates and the number of remaining pages is displayed on a display circuit 10. When the notch 3 passes by at near the end of the paper 1, the light receiving elements 4 and 5 operate and outputs A and B are put in CPU through a gate circuit 11 to send forth message for exchanging papers, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
