Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To perform earth sheathing effectively by properly forming flexible and water resistant flat plates in such a manner that they are extended in a fixed direction to form a number of square zones which are arranged on the slope face for soil filling. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of belt-shaped flat sheets 1 made up of a plastic net are piled one upon another. The first and the second sheets are joined together lengthwise at a roughly equal interval and then the second and the third sheets are joined in the same manner in the center of the preceding joints at an equal interval. This procedure is repeated to form a frame by joining the sheets one after another. The frame thus formed is arranged over the slope of face A and pulled at the right angle to the plane of the flat sheets so that the sheets are separated from each other with the joints 2 as the fulcrum whereby a number of square zones 4 are formed between two adjacent sheets 1 roughly in a shape close to diamond. Under such a condition, the frame is fixed with pins 3 and filling of soil is perfomed in each square zone so as to retain filled earth. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
