Ink for ink jet recording

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: An ink for ink jet recording, containing an organic solvent having no compatibility with water, a long chain fatty acid, a specific dye, an alkali hydroxide and water, having improved water resistance of an image with retained electric conductivity, low viscosity and noncombustibility. CONSTITUTION: An ink containing (A) an organic solvent, preferably an aromatic hydrocarbon such as toluene or aliphatic hydrocarbon such as cyclohexane, having a boiling point of 100W250°C, having no compatibility with water, (B) a long-chain fatty acid, e.g. an unsaturated fatty acid such as oleic acid, (C) a dye soluble in the mixed solution of the components (A) and (B) and insoluble in water, (D) an alkali hydroxide, e.g. sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, and (E) water. The mixing ratios of the components are as follows: 5W40pts.wt. component (A), 0.5W15pts.wt. component (B), 0.5W7.0pts.wt. component (C), 0.05W5.0pts.wt. component (D) and 100pts.wt. component (E).
