Diffraction grating type optical branching filter
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To match the center wave length of a branching filter to the wave length of a light source with a high precision, by converging again beams which are obtained by diffracting outputs of plural optical fibers, which are arranged in parallel through the V groove plate formed by etching of silicon single crystal, by a diffraction grating to parallel fibers through a lens. CONSTITUTION:V groove plate 14 is produced by chemical etching of a silicon plate, and arrangement part 15 of plural optical fibers is formed, and optical fiber cords 16-20, connector 21, holder 22, and box body 23 are provided. End faces of optical fiber strands 16-1-20-1 are placed at the focus of lens 2, and the light emitted from end faces becomes parallel beams 6-8 by lens 2 and is diffracted by diffraction grating 1. The diffracted light is converged to end faces of optical fiber strands 16-1-20-1 again by lens 2. By setting the interval of V grooves properly, the center wave length of the branching filter can be matched to the wave length of the light source with a high precision.
