Cold drying-type coat composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: The titled coat composition with excellent painting processability at normal temp., giving a coat excellent in luster, light resistance, weatherability, etc., which contains a modified vinyl copolymer obtd. from a cellulose acetate butylate and a vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION: 5W75wt% Cellulose acetate butylate of acetylation degree about 1W34wt% and butyl group. content about 16W60wt%, obtd. by the butylation of a partially acetylated cellulose, is copolymerized with 95W25wt% monomer component consisting of at least one vinyl monomer by means of soln. polymn. etc. Then the cellulose acetate butylate-modified vinyl copolymer obtd. is mixed as a vehicle component with an adequate org. solvent, pigment, etc., to prepare the purpose cold drying-type coat composition.
