Production of aromatic polyamide fiber
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE: An aromatic polyamide composition containing specific amounts of amide solvent and halogenated hydrocarbon is introduced into a coagulation bath to produce titled fiber economically because common solvents with high safety are employed. CONSTITUTION: The composition ratios of an aromatic polyamide (P), preferably containing more than 75mol% of m-phenyleneisophthalamide, an amide solvent (S), such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and a halogenated hydrocarbon (H), such as dichloromethane are set in the range of square ACDF in the triangular cordinate. Further, 5W60wt% of alkali or alkaline earth metal or ammonium salt halide such as calcium chloride is added on the basis of the aromatic polyamide and the composition is introduced into a coagulation bath of aqueous solution of metal salt such as calcium chloride to produce the objective fiber.
