Double piston

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To obtain an automatic adjustment of compression ratio of an engine to increase an output by dividing the piston into upper and lower parts and interconnecting the both parts by means of a spring. CONSTITUTION: The piston to be housed slidably within a cylinder of such as an engine is constituted by an upper part and a lower part, both connected to each other by means of the spring. According to this construction, at the suction and compression strokes of the engine, the upper and lower piston parts carry out the adjustment of the compression ratio automatically. Therefore, the circular movement of a crank shaft can be enlarged so that the engine output can be increased. COPYRIGHT: (C)1981,JPO&Japio
